How to enter your Samsung unlock code for most users:

  1. With your handset switched off, insert a SIM card that is different to your current network.
  2. Switch on your handset, slide to unlock and at the screen prompt enter your unlock code.

For 99% of users your handset should now be unlocked. You may also need to restart your handset.

How to enter your Samsung unlock code if you don’t get the screen prompt:

Sometimes when you switch on your handset with your new SIM inserted the handset does not prompt you to enter the SIM network unlock PIN. There are a number of workarounds for this problem.

Option 1:

  1. Navigate to your handsets dial screen and dial #7465625*638*#
  2. At the screen prompt enter your 8 digit Samsung unlock code

You should now be unlocked and may need to restart your device.

Option 2:

  1. With your handset switched off, insert a SIM card that is different to your current network.
  2. Switch on your handset, slide to unlock and at the screen prompt enter your ‘DEFREEZE’ or ‘UNFREEZE’ code first.
  3. Ignore the screen if it says ‘Network unlock request unsuccessful’ and enter your unlock code.
  4. If there is no screen prompt go to your dial screen, type in the ‘DEFREEZE’ or ‘UNFREEZE’ code and press call (You can ignore the ‘unsuccessful’ message.)
  5. Once FREEZE has been disabled the ‘Network lock’, ‘SIM network unlock’ PIN or ‘SP Lock’ screen will appear
  6. For ‘Network lock’ enter your unlock code.  For ‘SP Lock’ enter your service provider code.

You should now be unlocked and may need to restart your device.

Proceed with caution:

  • Note: If you get ‘unsuccessful’ press the ‘Dismiss’ button and enter *2767*3855# on phone keypad. Then try this procedure again.
  • Caution: This will reformat your data!

Option 3:

You can try this option with or without the original SIM card.

  1. Navigate to your handsets dial screen and dial #7465625*638*UNLOCKCODE#
  2. At the screen prompt enter your unlock code

You should be prompted with a phone deactivated message. This means your handset is now unlocked. Additionally you may need to restart your handset.

Option 4:

You can try this option with or without the original SIM card.

  1. Navigate to your handsets dial screen and dial #0111*UNLOCKCODE#
  2. At the screen prompt enter your unlock code

You should now be unlocked and may need to restart your device.

Troubleshooting your Samsung SIM network unlock PIN code:

Q. When I enter my unlock code it says ‘Network unlock request unsuccessful’.

A. There are a few reasons this could happen. If you or someone else has been entering the wrong unlock code more than 3 times you will be presented with this screen. Try inserting your new SIM card or checking to see you are not already unlocked. You may also benefit from using a ‘DEFREEZE’ or ‘UNFREEZE’ code.

Q. What do I do if my handset is showing SIM network PIN blocked. Enter SIM network PUK?

A. With Samsung handsets you only get 3 attempts at entering a correct unlock code. If you continue to enter the wrong code you will get a PUK request. Some networks provide the PUK in your welcome pack when you sign up to them.

You can request your PUK (Personal Unblocking Key) from the network. If you’re unable to do that you can purchase a ‘DEFREEZE’ or ‘UNFREEZE’ code which is entered before your unlock code.

Q. Where can I get my service provider code from?

A. If your handset is asking for a service provider code or service provider key (SPK) you can find a list of them here.

Q. Can you unlock a blacklisted Samsung phone?

A. Unfortunately this is not possible. You may be able to hack the handset using illegal software but we do not know of any other way.

Hi Christoper, we have consistently excellent reviews and offer full support for customers who are having problems after they have entered the unlock code eventhough our job stops at providing a code. We offered you full support and in return you sent us an aggressive email bizarrely threatening to report us and then you sent us another 4 emails and claimed your money back through PayPal at 9:45pm on a Sunday evening. This is not the type of customer behavior we are able accommodate. Operating hours are as stated on the contact page. We did our best to support you but you were impossible to support and instead preferred to denigrate our company and the excellent service we provide to hundreds of customers every month.
