Just a few days ago Sammobile posted an exclusive that revealed a new Samsung Galaxy Watch was in the making. However, the question on everyone’s lips is has to be whether the new Samsung Galaxy Watch 2 will support 5G or not?
Clearly this will be a massive undertaking on Samsung’s behalf and will come with a plethora of technical challenges. What’s more, the take up on the first iteration of the Galaxy Watch was nothing compared to the Apple Watch 4.
Is the Samsung Galaxy Watch 2 to use the 5G network in the UK?
Samsung have not indicated as to whether there will be a 5G Galaxy Watch 2 for the UK. Interestingly there is some speculation that there will be a 5G model released for the US market. According to Sammobile model numbers SM-R827 and SM-R837 are allocated to the US 5G release of the Samsung Watch 2 smartwatch.
As far as we can tell this is either unsubstantiated speculation or a real scoop on insider knowledge. Only time will tell which it is.
When will the new Samsung Galaxy Watch 2 be released?
More speculation is rife with know full knowledge on the matter. What we do know is that the Galaxy Watch 2 will be released sometime in 2019. That could possibly coincide with a new smartphone release much later in the year.
We would expect it to be released closer to summertime 2019 which would fit in better with peak outdoors activities. No doubt other companies such as Apple are racing to deliver a 5G smartwatch in time for Christmas shoppers.
